Raymond Brown – Director
Raymond joined the firm of Hay Cassels in 1986 and has been a partner in the firm since 1989 He graduated with honours from Glasgow University in 1985 and obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice in 1986. He specialises in Employment Law, Civil litigation and Business contracts. He has practised extensively in the local Courts and at the Employment Tribunals. He has been a part time judge since 1999 in relation to Social Security Tribunals.

Paul Brown – Director
Paul joined the firm as a partner in 2009. He graduated from Strathclyde University in 1998 and obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice in 1999. His fields of expertise include domestic and commercial property market and formation of business contracts. Paul is a member of the Business Network International referral organisation.

Valerie Troop – Paralegal F. Insta Pa / Office Manager
Valerie is a Paralegal in the firm and she graduated from Strathclyde University with a certificate in Specialist Civil Court Practice in 2006. She is a member of the Institute of Paralegals having gained Fellowship within this institute. Valerie has particular experience in the field of civil law including Guardianships, Power of Attorney, Divorce, employment law, reparation and debt recovery. She was awarded the Scott and Co Paralegal of the Year award in 2012. Valerie is also our Office Manager.

Dianne Doran – Paralegal F. Insta Pa
Dianne is a Paralegal in the firm and she graduated from Strathclyde University with a certificate of performance in Conveyancing Practice in 2002. She is a member of the Institute of Paralegals having gained Fellowship within this institute. Dianne has particular experience in the conveyancing field and deals with new conveyancing referrals. She further can turn her hand to dealing with debt recovery, completing guardianship annual accounts, employment law and matrimonial minute of agreements.

Muriel MacKenzie – Legal Secretary
Muriel is our longest serving member of staff. She has been with Hay Cassels since 1971. She works within the conveyancing department and is the secretary to both Iain and Paul. Muriel has extensive knowledge in all aspects of conveyancing.

Frances Peat – Legal Secretary
Frances recently joined the firm in August 2015. Frances is a civil court secretary having experience in family law and employment law. She is the secretary to both Raymond and Anji.
